 No.222413

So I'm "lucky" to live with my parents and leeching them off as a pathetic NEET.
If I go to work, how will that benefit me?
I won't be able to afford a new PC since it costs a shitton of money. Okay maybe I could afford a laptop for a black day when my PC dies.
I wouldn't be able to move out. I wouldn't be able to afford anything life-changing (education, flat, car).
Basically I wouldn't be able to afford anything. And additionally, I'd be incredibly suicidal like most of the day because i'm an autistic weak mentally pathetic NEET who can't survive society and work in the first place, anyway.

What are the pros towards trying to find a job as a 30+ years old NEET as opposed to trying to kill myself painlessly?

 No.222414

I had to start working in my late 20s due to it no longer being possible to leech anymore (I won't go into detail about my personal situation since it's not relevant). I've been able to buy a house, a car, and have enough money to fund my hobbies however I want. That doesn't mean I'm happy, but I was able to become financially independent. It's possible if you want to do it, but you'll have to put in a lot of effort and consciously try to "move up the ladder" from a shit entry level job. If you want to get a job at your age your best bet is a temp agency since your lack of work history won't be relevant. That can get you hired on to a permanent position if you can do your job decently. That's what I did at least.

 No.222415

>>222414
I'll add that still living with your parents is a benefit in this situation, since you can save the majority of your money at first rather than spending it on rent, bills, etc. If you save the majority of money you make you can rack up tens of thousands of dollars over a few years (this is also what I did).

 No.222416

>>222414
Which field is your job in? How do you move up the ladder if you're autistic and dumb and depressed and don't have ambition?

 No.222417

>>222416
>Which field is your job in?
I work in a manufacturing plant and currently have a lower level management position that I was promoted into.
>How do you move up the ladder if you're autistic
Go to work and do your job properly and work hard. It fucking sucks, I won't lie to you. Try to visualize it like a video game if that helps. Like I said, I work in manufacturing so I kind of visualized like a crafting video game.
>and dumb
I don't think I'm dumb but none of the stuff I do is rocket science anyway. No matter how dumb you are there are people dumber than you that can hold down a job.
>and depressed
When I first started working I viewed it as a punishment that I deserved and so I worked harder to make myself suffer more. I don't feel that way anymore but I suppose it helped at the time.
>and don't have ambition?
Instead of ambition recognize that you can't leech forever. Your parents will eventually die and you're going to be left to your own devices. I was raised by my mother, and she died a few years ago, and I didn't have any other family that I could depend on. If I hadn't gotten to the point that I'm at then I would be fucked. I don't think suicide is wrong (I'm not trying to give you some moral lesson) but if you want to continue living you'll have to find some way to make ends meet.

 No.222418

>>222416
Also "moving up the ladder" doesn't necessarily mean getting into a position like I have. At my job you get raises based on the amount of machinery you learn to operate, for example. Just going through a process like that is enough, really. I recommended a temp agency earlier. If you want to do that, it's okay to be selective. When I did that I could only work at night, since I needed to use my mother's car. They tried to give me an afternoon shift and I rejected it and they called back a few days later with a night shift job (the one I still work at).

Do you have higher education?

 No.222420

>>222419
I went to a technical college in my early 20s at the behest of my mother. I have an Associate's Degree but I've never used it for anything and it's not relevant to my current job at all. Like I said I got my job through a temp agency. They don't give a shit about your experience.

Life with parents is fucking trash. You have no freedom and they treat you like a fucking child. You'll feel their despair over their loser son even though they won't say anything, you'll their cynicism creeping in your room even though they're silent. You'll be the target of their desires and expectations and aging and dying hopes. And when they become emotionally or physically dependent on you that is the worst shit ever. Keeping all relations at arms length is the best thing if you're a Wizard and you want to hold this status. There's no such thing as moderation.

Run away from them as quick as you can. Life already fucking hard you don't need extra bondage and to suffer with it. It's best to die alone or at least away from your family because then there's no room for faggot drama and you're free to blow your brains out if that's what you desire.

Fucking run as fast as you can.

 No.222422

>>222421
I need a job to run. I'm close to 30, I don't have a degree, I don't have any experience or skills, I don't have any ambition, willpower or really anything that can help with jobs. I am not far mentally from being 15 years old.

 No.222423

Money is freedom in this world. It won't make you happy(happiness doesn't exist, man is here to suffer the rape of existence and then die). With age you'll desire it more.

Make money!!!! If you don't have what it takes to kill yourself then make money. Have hobbies but make money.

 No.222424

>>222422
I understand you. But please trust me if you're at least psychically functional or healthy then make money and move away. Or maybe you're a cold man who doesn't let circumstances affect his cold heart. If you're not then make money.

Lie on your CV. Email random HR succubi. Show up at places and ask for work. Do whatever you can to get a job.

 No.222425

>>222421
Accurate. I feel guilty for "abandoning" my family but it is better than the alternative

 No.222426

>>222425
That's valid because we're human after all.

Everyman is fucked up from the inside. There's eternal loneliness inside all of us. Relations come with own baggage. There's a price on everything. If one is healthy then sure one can give a shoulder to people around you but if one is both mentally and physically fucked then how it is possible? The burden of self is already too fucking much. Some people do charity faggot shit as a cope but even that comes with bondage and danger of growing attachment with it.

Fuck monasteries. A rootless exile away from "your people" is the least shit option in my opinion(maybe because I haven't experienced it yet).

 No.222428

I am nowhere near as cynical as this, but I do agree that moving out of your parents house is the most important thing for any young wizard to do.

Living with parents work with some people but if your life is enough of a mess to become a regular poster on this website then it is highly likely that your parents are a big part of the problem. Move out, face overcome some basic real world challenges and do something for yourself.

 No.222430

>I've been able to buy a house
where in the world is it possible to buy a house from a few years of working?
starting from entry level jobs

 No.222431

>>222430
I live in the US, just in a low cost-of-living area. I bought my house during Covid while making around $19 an hour. The key is saving your money. Take advantage of not having bills and save most of it until you've got a large chunk put back. When I bought my house I had over $30k in the bank. You also have to get your credit score up. Getting a credit card and paying it off every month will do it. If you can't get a credit card you can get a secured credit card with a down payment and then transfer to a real one, which is what I did.

 No.222432

>>222431
ah, so you didn't really "buy" the house with you own money, you took a loan
ironic that you left your parents to gain freedom, but you sold your freedom to the bank

 No.222433

>>222432
Of course I got a loan, just like anyone else does. I don't know why you'd even think otherwise. Also I didn't "leave" my mother. Her health was failing and she eventually had to stop working. When I bought my house I moved her into it with me (the place we lived in before was literally falling apart as well). She's since passed away, though.

 No.222434

>>222433
and you don't see the problem with taking a loan being the only option to live in a house? (which you don't even own lol)
you don't see the problem with become a slave to the bank?

do you know that this hasn't always been the case, and people in the past really could afford to buy a house with the cash they owned? after working for a few years
it's because of impatient, compromising people like you that loans have become the norm

Fair enough. I'll answer you, though. The housing situation is what it is, for reasons beyond my control. If I hadn't done what I did, I'd currently either be dead or homeless, neither of which would fix any of this shit. Everyone's been dealt a shitty hand currently. If you want to continue living then you just have to deal with it and make what you can out of it.

I work a backbreaking minimum wage job, and I still live with my dad which is considered leeching. Literally all I do is sleep in a room with the lights off, and use his water/internet. I pay for all of my meals, and give him rent.
You're lucky compared to us slaves (with social debilitation), but we're all fucked in the long run.

You're going to be amazed, there are entire fields of thinking stones all talking to each other, with more emerging on demand whenever controlling stone starts to think it needs them to handle more questions. For first 5 years I was amazed by what I was given to play with – just to build ever more complex systems and even some pittance on top! But at around 10 years I started to just accept this, what merchants wouldn't do to have their own wizard to talk to magic stones. Now I have been "working" for 15 years now, but it's really just a play: conjure spirits of the computer with your spells all you want all day and all night, pay minutest of heeds to whatever merchants desires are, they will be awed by most parlor of tricks while you can play your fill with syntactic constructs and pass time with beings that cannot reveal themselves or real beauty to ordinary mortals – it is a wonder indeed.

In most places on Earth physical labor is shit tier work with 200-400 dollars/euros monthly wage, like in Serbia.

Yep. Young people have to move out of Canberra and Sydney en masse.

The only people who get by are those trust fund babies who are millionaires at age 20 by no merit of their own.
Like, you can earn 3000 a month and you will barely pay the rent on a single bedroom and food.

There are IT specialists/ultra talented coders who get 100k+ a year, but they are a 1% minority.

Public transport sucks here and the only way to have freedom of movement is with a car.

A maintained reasonably safe car costs too much to run with neetbucks only.

And if you want a decent, comfortable, clean car instead of one that just barely runs, that costs way beyond what neetbucks can offer.

Money. And also a faint sense of dignity on stopping to be a burden to your parents. But less dignity in every other aspect.

You can save some money to avoid becoming a panhandler if things go south. Make some math, calculate how much you'd spend in 12 months by yourself and gather that sweet cash. Don't touch it. After you do that, save money for your PC. Trust me.
