Both pills claim that anyone can find happiness, if only you try hard enough. Which is not true, if you're born too dysgenic, your life is destined to suck. Yes, everyone can make their life somewhat better, but what about diminishing returns? For many people, it only takes a little effort to make a difference. For some, it takes so much effort that the outcome is not worth it. A job gets you money, but leaves you with so little energy and free time, that you can't even enjoy the money.
