When I was younger I was quite naive and thought that most people were respectful and understanding, and that as long you managed to approach them with those values in mind people would return the favor. Then as I grew older I obviously realized that's mostly bullshit, but I was still naive enough to think that you could have relationships with people on the basis of those qualities at least some of the time, like with your family for example. Now, I'm starting to think you can't even have that.
Every interaction is like a game of heads or tails, where you're always either on top or on the bottom -no in between- and it happens in the most benign interactions. For example, even something minor like admitting that I've been a bit tired this week because I slept poorly causes people to look down on me or act annoyed. Whereas if I tell someone that I've been feeling great and wake up every morning at 7:00 to do an hour of exercise they're impressed and instantly treat me better. I found that it's far and away better to never show any weakness whatsoever, and hype yourself up instead (even if it's not true).
I guess this is why normalfags always lie and brag, and exaggerate their own achievements and where the whole idea of saving face and all that comes from. It's not just self-aggrandizment for their own ego (although I'm sure that's a big part), it actually significantly changes how people treat you.
I guess you see it as well with succubi who drop their boyfriends as soon as they show some kind of weakness like crying, or being emotionally down, etc.
I know that to many this will seem like a childish realization, but it genuinely took me my whole life to come to this understanding.
