>>308125>on stuff like cobblestoneoh yeah that's quite annoying to ride on with the undersized electric scooter wheels. the only way to make it bit better i have found is just riding a bit slower on it, this however should greatly impact the battery, luckily i just got a fresh second pair of batteries delivered and now my range should be 30km.
i wish summer wasn't over just as i got this fun new toy.
blease bost bicture of one that looks similar to yours. there weren't that many available pictures on the image search.
i wonder how far you can go on one single kick of the ground. i wonder if it feels somewhat like a skateboard. rolling on a skateboard with well maintained bearings on a smooth surface is such a nice feeling, i don't understand it that so few people skate. it is such vivid, elegant, life-affirming pleasure. such a rare combination of art, physical expression and technology. it is nice to feel the smoothness of the bearing as it represents a rare occasion of technology being a tangible, guilt-free contributor to the quality of human life instead of merely trading freedom into convenience.
>>308145>at artformhave you never seen these gifs and tiktoks and whatever of manual laborers from around the world doing their work at incredible superhuman speeds? the longer you do something, the better you get at it and in many cases there is a surprising amount of skill possible that occasionally question what is possible for a human.
i guess you did not know that, otherwise what reason is there not to care about the potential of the biological machine you were spawned in? you don't think that is important? to know what it can and can't do?
>it looks like shit alwayswhen you reach a certain point of skill with your vehicle, wherever you drive a crowd instantly forms. they can not help but stare at what they believed to be outside of possibility. they look like starving people at a plate of food they can not touch. they stare so hard, if you ever witnessed such admiration and knew what it looked like (which clearly you do not) you'd worry their eyes fall out of their sockets.

The site I bought the scooter from hasn't confirmed the order, given shipping information, or really communicated at all and it's been a week.
Only confirmation I got was from paypal with a receipt.
Security of the site seems fine, and when doing a scam scan on 3rd party sites the only thing they noted suspicious was extremely low traffic.
While I thought it's possible the business closed but hasn't yet bothered to close the site (since their twatter account is closed) according to the registration they renewed the thing earlier this month.
Many of their forms don't work so I sent them a email directly.
If I don't resive any responce I will assume something went wrong and just go through paypal or my debit card to refund the money.
It doesn't look like a straight up scam. More like their site has been neglected, based on a out of date template, and doesn't actually work anymore.
I just hope the items they say they had for sell are actually for sale, and the site isn't just a snapshot of when it was created.
Otherwise the item I wanted will be much more expensive to acquire with a much higher shipping cost since 3rd party sellers are rare and the people who make it charge over 100 bucks for shipping + vat. Which I don't want to pay.
Funny thing is, on a whim I messed with one of those fortune telling oracles based on dice rolls and asked it something related to the scooter being bought.
Said I should expect great hardship and trouble.
I blew it off but it looks like that silly dice fortune telling program might have gotten this prediction right.
Nothing can ever be easy for me. It's rare I can just enjoy things and not have something bad happen.
Guess the only thing now to do is wait and see if they email me back.
If they don't then so be it. I will deal with it and move on as I always do. Ain't nobody going to help me but me after all.
Sorry for the rant. Just had to vent.
Hopefully your day has less worry then mine.

>>308316hmm seems like there is room for a trustworthy seller of these things in your market. i hope you get the thing. i saw someone near where i live riding on a similar looking device.
was riding on the electric scooter today and i saw something i don't think i have ever seen before. it was a bike where someone was standing on. it did not have a saddle to sit on. clearly made for standing. it was similar to those on the picture i attached with the notable difference, that instead of a regular handle, it just had these poles to grab on, so i assume the arms could contribute to the movement, which could be something to strictly outclass all the leg-only mobility devices.
it did not look like the person who was riding it, was doing a good job of it, maybe a beginner, i could tell how the person was timid, stiff and limited; only used like 20% of what is possible. no shifting around of the weight, no springloading, no pendulum movements, no usage of orbits, no full body tension.

>>308370i wonder how much fun it would be to ride those around, they seem like exercise devices for physical rehabilitation but i can't help but think i could become pretty fast on them. i would use my whole body and it imagine the trampoline vibes. maybe they are considerably faster with less effort compared to regular bicycles.
this halfbike seems like it would be a bit more fun to ride around. because of how compact it is, i imagine it is better at maneuvering around traffic, road construction and congestion. probably not as comfortable to stand on. i wish the halfbike and the street strider had a baby i could ride around on.

No.308426
>>308387>I reckon they're awesome too, except in my city they are just as expensive to hire as a share-cari am wondering if they can keep the prices of these thing so high. where i live there are numerous competing services and they all seem to cost similarly. ~7€ for 30 minutes, ~13€ for an hour.
most of the time the scooters aren't in use though. they just stand by the road, waiting for people. while i was driving in a car the other day i was counting the scooters on the way to my favorite takeout. i counted 70 rentable electric scooters and probably 20 electric bikes and small electric motorcycle-type devices.
for the high availability of these things the prices are too unattractive. even bus is too expensive. the only reason to ride them that i believe makes sense is when you travel around and you want to explore a new city. then paying the 13€ to not exhaust yourself and ride around for an hour is so worth it. for daily use i'd rather pack light and walk.
No.308427
>>308426my area has no real bus service
i see a lot of them by a warehouse nearby
i think a lot of them are opportunity usage
like people maybe are too tired one day,
or theyre running late,
because a lot of the jobs involve walking around all day for hours in the warehouse,
it seems counterintuitive for people to pay quite expensive rates to then ride one home instead of another 30 minutes of walking after 8 hours of walking
but the human value system is different
it is illegal to use a personal scooter though only regulated company ones are available

is better to go shopping first and skate afterwards because skating feels so good and wakes the body up so much, once i am warm and then go shopping the succubi recognize the superior elegant movements and want to come close and try their luck, which is very annoying and uncomfortable and i almost get startled by it.

you practice movements. the more you skate the more you search for these tiniest of advantages in movements that make your movements faster and more expressive.
a rare skill with surprising consequences and side-effects.
like a speedrunner playing the first level over and over, searching for something closer to perfection. of course he can never reach it but superhuman places are very much reachable. it is a practice of excellence.
imagine this dude climbed up there for the first time and it wasn't all that impressive and quick. you look at him now and imagine how many times he must have done it to do it this good. repetitions that reveal tiny differences. that's the love of movement, that's skating.
never mind the music you fool, when you skate you only listen to songs that are absolute bangers to you. if you are not DJing to yourself via phone while you skate, you are doing it wrong.
